March 15 – World Consumer Rights Day
Every year on March 15, the world observes "World Consumer Rights Day"—a day that highlights the importance of protecting consumers' rights, ensuring transparency in the provision of services, and fostering trust between service providers and their customers.
Consumer protection is an essential component of a sustainable financial system. Every customer should have access to complete, accurate, and easy-to-understand information about financial products and services, be able to make informed decisions, and have confidence that their rights are effectively protected.
The National Bank of Tajikistan pays special attention to protecting the rights of consumers of financial services. The regulator's efforts are aimed at increasing the transparency of the financial market, improving mechanisms for handling citizens' inquiries and complaints, enhancing financial literacy, and ensuring fair relations between financial institutions and their customers.
Financial institutions, in turn, are responsible for providing high-quality services, informing customers about the terms and conditions of financial products and services in a timely manner, and adhering to the principles of transparency, integrity, and professional ethics.
Consumers are encouraged to carefully review the terms of agreements, tariffs, and service conditions before signing any documents, seek clarification whenever necessary, and use only the official communication channels of financial institutions.
Protecting consumer rights is not only a legal obligation but also the foundation of trust in the financial system. Such trust contributes to the sustainable development of the banking sector, improves financial literacy, and strengthens long-term partnerships between customers and financial institutions.
